Redefining "easy"

Well, with less than a month to go until the big race, I did an 8-mile run on Sunday. And finished feeling like I could definitely do another two miles beyond that. Which is sort of funny when you consider that after my first four-mile run (several months ago now), I didn't feel like I could run another step.

From birthday to birthday (I started training just after Ella's birthday, and last weekend was Sadie's birthday), I seem to have made good strides. My easy run used to be 2.5 miles. Now I consider 4–5 miles an "easy" run. Plus, I managed to run outdoors through what I consider one of the WORST winters on record.

(Incidentally, I've also lost about 12 pounds between E's birthday and S's birthday.)
