Top 10 Favorite Vacation Memories (in no particular order)
1. Seeing Ella swim on her own for the first time
2. Watching the girls feed the large fish in the pond that wound through the resort
3. Swimming up the pool's lazy river with Sadie in search of iguanas
4. My afternoon alone at the beach with Dean (my wonderful in-laws babysat for our napping daughters)
5. Tropical mixed drinks and chips/salsa down by the pool in the lazy afternoon hours
6. Our trip downtown with Louisa and Dave for dinner, drinks, and shopping (thanks to Deane Sr. for watching the girls!)
7. Beer down by the beach after a nice dinner out (again, with my lovely in-laws watching the girls!)
8. My ocean-front massage!!!!!!!
9. Spending a morning alone on the beach with the girls while the boys were off doing a canopy tour
10. Hearing Sadie saying "peacop" (i.e., "peacock") and listening to her scream for the peacock at 6:00 in the morning from our balcony
There are surely more special moments that I missed, but I did say "10," so I'll leave it at that for now.
Top 10 Vacation Moments I'd Rather Forget (in no particular order)
1. Realizing someone had somehow accessed the number to my checking account Visa and had made a bunch of charges at Southwest Airlines and T-Mobile (beware Mexican ATM machines!!)
2. My trip to the grocery store (this may come as a shock to you, but most Mexican people do not speak English!)--especially trying to get someone to reach the sand toys for me and trying to order lunchmeat at the deli counter
3. Dave's cockroach story (which is indelibly burned in my mind forever now)
4. The meltdowns and tantrums of April 9 and 10 for no discernable reason (the girls, not us)
5. Our journey home
6. Sunburns (me and the girls) and sun poisoning (me)
7. Our trip downtown with the girls and Sadie's ensuing meltdown
8. The giant tantrums Sadie had every single time someone tried to put her in a stroller
9. The night it took 1.5 hours and multiple trips in and out of the bedroom plus countless tears (Sadie's) to get the girls to go to sleep
10. Arriving in Mexico and realizing American Airlines had lost one of our strollers (bastards!)
