There is a group on Facebook called something like "You know you grew up on the Northwest side of Chicago when..." It proceeds to list the things a Northwest-side kid would grow up doing, including visits to one of the best hot dog places on Earth: SuperDawg.
For the time being, Ella and Sadie are city kids through and through--and we have the Catholic school tuition to prove it! We may not live on the Northwest side (technically speaking), but that doesn't mean these kids don't appreciate the virtues of a $5 hot dog!
In keeping with our decidedly urban lifestyle, our stop prior to SuperDawg involved dropping five bags of recycling into the city recycling dumpster by the toboggan hill (another thing you did if you grew up on the Northwest side of Chicago!). But I'm happy to report that we are the proud new owners of the city's recently rolled out "blue carts," which means we can now recycle in the comfort of our own backyard. Ah, progress.
