WAY way way back in December when Christmas was still on the horizon in all its promising glory, we took the girls to visit my sister and BIL at their new Chicago condo. We had some delicious Mexican food and discovered that the girls' advanced ages mean being able to postpone dinner until 7 without disastrous consequences and eat at a hip restaurant without worrying about whether or not there are high chairs or children's menus (yay!). The girls discovered that they really do like cats after all. And I realized that I have to get some stemless wine glasses--and soon.
Rain was falling as we walked back to our car. And then, just like that, it was snowing. Not just any snow either. We're talking beautiful, fat, amazing snowflakes. It was like being caught in a snow globe that someone had just shaken. Magical.
May your 2011 be filled with many such moments of pure magic.
