Blankie: Yesterday & Today

I'm a knitter! New blankie is finally complete. Here are some pictures. The first shows Sadie with "original" blankie--her first love. I'm not entirely sure who made blankie. I think it may have been my grandfather's wife Grace. It was crocheted and was a beautiful blanket before Sadie put it through the paces. At one point, I mailed half of blankie to Ohio (!) so my friend Laurie's mom could put it back together again. But like Humpty Dumpty, blankie is getting to a point where it just can't be put back together again. It's in about five pieces. So I tried my hand at knitting a replacement blankie. And here is the result.
