In Which We Discover that the Children do Indeed Make the Home

The girls spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa's last night. It was a very last-minute sort of thing. Grandpa (who watches the girls every Monday--yea Grandpa!) called to say he wanted to pick the girls up and drive them back to the suburbs to hang out with cousin Christine, who is leaving for college on Tuesday (!!). It seemed like a lot of driving to us, so we offered to bring the girls out to the 'burbs last night and save Grandpa two trips and approximately $20 in gas. Truth be told, there *was* something in it for us too--a complete night of undisturbed sleep! (Sadie had other plans though and kept her host up from 3:30 to 5:00).

In any case, we came to the conclusion that our house is very, very empty without the chicks.
