Summer Is Coming (We Think....)

On the off chance that summer is actually coming this year (hopefully soon!!), we kicked off Memorial Day weekend by planting our vegetable garden and adding flowers to the beds in the back and front yards.

The girls were eager to chip in, which mostly consisted of unnecessary digging (Ella), playing with worms (Sadie), and carrying plants back and forth (Sadie). Eventually, they gave up and went off to ride their bikes.

We planted three tomato plants--one "Early Girl" variety, one grape tomato plant, and one mature tomato plant. We also planted green beans, cucumbers, basil, oregano, and hot peppers (for salsa).

That's about it from these parts. The girls are with my in-laws this weekend, so we're left trying to figure out what it is people without kids do on the weekends. I've got a few nannies to interview (which I'm guessing is NOT something people without kids do on the weekend). Then we'll see. A run is probably on the agenda.

Stay tuned, though, we may have some exciting news in a few days!
